Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical/Surgical nursing for a 13-week travel contract in Duluth, Georgia. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills and experience providing quality patient care in a fast-paced acute surgical unit.

The selected nurse will care for patients admitted from the Emergency Department (ED), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and direct admissions. This unit manages a high volume of daily admissions and discharges, requiring excellent patient management, prioritization, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities
Assess, monitor, and document patients' health conditions.
Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers with the healthcare team.
Provide safe, patient-centered care in a fast-paced medical/surgical environment.
Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately.
Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records (EMR).
Follow infection control, patient safety, and hospital protocols.

Requirements
Active and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
ACLS certification preferred.
Cerner EMR experience preferred.
Previous travel nursing experience required.
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts.
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and time-management skills.
Flexibility to work variable schedules and float if required.
Must complete all compliance requirements before the scheduled start date.
