We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 12-week travel assignment in an acute medical-surgical unit in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of acute medical and surgical conditions, monitor patient progress, administer medications, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
The ideal candidate must have at least two years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience, current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and prior travel nursing experience.
Responsibilities
Assess patients' health conditions, monitor vital signs, and evaluate responses to treatment.
Develop, implement, and update individualized nursing care plans.
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute medical and post-surgical conditions.
Monitor patients for changes in clinical status and promptly report significant findings.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
Follow infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and hospital policies.
Support continuity of care through effective communication and shift handoffs.
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for the assignment location.
Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
Current AHA BLS certification.
Prior travel nursing experience required.
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts.
Flexibility to accommodate schedule variations and holiday staffing requirements.
Strong clinical assessment, communication, documentation, and critical-thinking skills.
