The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse provides specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and procedural interventions. The PACU RN is responsible for monitoring patients during the immediate post-operative period, ensuring a safe recovery from anesthesia, and identifying any complications or adverse reactions.

Responsibilities
Assess and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia.
Continuously monitor vital signs, pain levels, airway status, and level of consciousness.
Identify and respond to post-operative complications and adverse reactions.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Provide patient and family education regarding post-operative care and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Requirements
Active RN license in good standing.
Previous PACU, Critical Care, ICU, or Recovery Room experience preferred.
BLS and ACLS certifications required (facility requirements may vary).
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
