Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join a fast-paced, high-volume OR department in Chicago, IL. The OR RN will provide safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative nursing care while collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary surgical team.

Workday hours may extend based on case load.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and AORN standards

Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures

Function effectively as a circulator and/or scrub nurse as assigned

Assess patient condition pre-, intra-, and post-operatively and document accurately in EPIC

Maintain sterile technique and ensure patient safety throughout procedures

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical team members for optimal patient outcomes

Respond to on-call assignments as scheduled

On-Call Requirements
One (1) night every 2 weeks

One (1) weekend every 6 weeks

Active RN license (Illinois or compact, as applicable)

Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience – required

Experience in a busy OR department – required

EPIC EMR experience – required

BLS certification (ACLS preferred)

Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
