The competent Nurse in this clinical setting practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. This role involves providing routine and complex care for trauma patients, managing contingencies of clinical nursing, and making appropriate assignments to help manage the clinical situation.

Key Responsibilities:

Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation).

Addresses complex psychological, emotional, and social needs of patients and families.

Administers medications and treatments via protocol and monitors effectiveness.

Documents patient history, symptoms, and care given accurately.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Experience: 1 year of experience in a Critical Care setting preferred; however, new graduates are accepted.

Licenses: Current RN License (Texas or Compact State).

Certifications: > * BLS: Required at time of hire (no grace period).

ACLS & PALS: Required within 30 days (experienced) or 90 days (new grads).

TNCC & TCAR: Required within 60 days (experienced) or 18 months (new grads)
