About Our Emergency Departments
TMC Health – Main Campus
The TMC Emergency Department is the busiest Emergency Department in Southern Arizona, treating approximately 95,000 patients annually across adult and pediatric services. Our department includes 54 beds, structured into four pods (North, South, East, and West), with patients assigned based on triage acuity using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) guidelines.
Nurse‑to‑patient ratios range from 1:2 to 1:4, depending on acuity
Broad patient population: from sore throats and minor lacerations to respiratory failure, trauma, and STEMI patients
Dedicated Behavioral Health Observation Unit located within the ED

TMC Rincon – Southeast Tucson
TMC Rincon is a 55-bed, full-service hospital featuring:
Emergency services
Imaging and laboratory services
Operating suites and cath lab
Obstetrics unit with:
3 OB triage rooms
6 labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum suites
Dedicated C-section room
Every patient room offers panoramic views of the Rincon Mountains. The campus also includes a medical office building and a new ambulatory surgery center, supporting comprehensive, coordinated care.
As an Emergency Department RN, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will work alongside physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care to a diverse and complex patient population.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: One year of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred. (Positions assigned to EP: require two (2) years of EP experience or demonstrated competency in all areas of EP Lab procedures).
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Current RN licensure permitting work in the State of Arizona and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Additional certification may be required per department.
