The Med‑Surg RN provides direct patient care on a fast‑paced medical‑surgical unit, supporting patients with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver safe, high‑quality nursing care to a diverse patient population

Perform assessments, administer medications, and document care accurately

Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams

Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge needs

Maintain compliance with all facility and unit protocols

Support unit flow and patient throughput

Qualifications
Active RN license

Minimum 1 year recent Med‑Surg experience

Strong assessment and critical‑thinking skills

Ability to work 12‑hour day shifts

BLS required; additional certifications may be preferred

First‑time travelers accepted!!!!!!

Call‑ins must be made up (during pay period or added to end of contract)

Every other weekend required (may work more based on need)

May be asked to take charge with training

Teaching facility — must be okay with precepting or having students shadow

Certs: BLS required

Experience: Minimum 2 years; Level 1 Trauma preferred

Ratios: 1:5–6

Floating required:YES

Unit: Med‑Surg, colorectal post‑op; must be N95 fit‑tested or PAPR‑trained

Holiday requirement: Must work 2 of 3 major holidays

License: Must be in hand before start
