Cultural and educational highlights include a museum and art center spanning 50,000 square feet across 12 galleries covering art, history, and the work of rocket pioneer Robert H. Goddard, as well as the International UFO Museum and Research Center, which presents exhibits and archives on the notable 1947 incident. Outdoor recreation is available at a state park established in 1933 - the first in New Mexico - offering kayaking, swimming, and camping, along with wildlife viewing at a national wildlife refuge, a zoo with free admission, and local shopping and dining along the downtown main street.
ABOUT THE CLINICIAN'S WORKDAY
Clinicians will provide outpatient and clinic-based primary care services to adult patients (ages 18 and older) at an on-site correctional facility, working 24 hours per week on a day shift schedule with a preferred arrangement of three 8-hour shifts, though two 12-hour shifts may be considered. The expected caseload is 10 patients per day, with clinical responsibilities encompassing the evaluation and management of primary care conditions within a medium-security correctional environment. Required credentials include an active state PA license, DEA registration, BLS certification, and prescriptive authority; board certification is negotiable, with a credentialing timeframe of approximately one to two weeks, including PREA training and a background check. Candidates with prior correctional experience and at least five years of experience as a clinician are preferred; no call coverage is required for this assignment.
