Respiratory Therapist - NICU - Rotating Shifts - $84/hr

JOB SUMMARY (LIST FORMAT) – NICU RESPIRATORY THERAPIST (RRT) AT ALTRU HEALTH SYSTEM

- Perform and document comprehensive evaluations and patient assessments in the NICU.
- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory treatments as ordered by physicians.
- Deliver appropriate patient and family education and support, tailored to their needs.
- Recognize and respond to significant changes in patient condition, ensuring timely communication and documentation.
- Conduct pain assessments and take action per standard protocols.
- Complete all required documentation, including order entry, EMR, medication charting, and incident reports.
- Process patient charges and verify relevant reports.
- Clean, assemble, disassemble, and perform preventative maintenance on respiratory equipment per procedures.
- Tag and report equipment requiring repair or safety checks to the appropriate department.
- Transport critically ill infants to and from referral health systems, providing high-quality care during transport.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient care.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.
- Maintain required certifications: RRT (ND license), BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2 years of NICU respiratory therapy experience.
- Recent travel experience preferred (3 completed assignments).
- 13-week contract, 3x12 rotating shifts.
- Must submit resume, skills checklist (with surgeries listed), and proof of licensure for consideration.
