JOB REQUIREMENTS

* Board: Board Certified PA-C
* Licenses: Active Iowa License (or eligible to obtain; processing time 4-6 weeks)
* Certifications: ACLS, BLS
* Experience: Minimum 2 years of CT Surgery experience
* Other Qualifications: Clean malpractice/background; NPDB Self-Query Report within 30 days

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, EVH, open valvular surgery, thoracotomy, and lobectomy
* Provide daily first-assist coverage in the operating room and manage inpatient care (ICU/floor)
* Participate in weekday night call and weekend 24-hour call for cardiothoracic surgery emergencies
* Manage preoperative and postoperative patient evaluations and rounding
* Collaborate with attending surgeons, nurses, and other team members to ensure comprehensive patient care
