Certified Surgical Technologist III

Position Summary
Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures. Follows hospital regulations and
industry procedures to tend to patient during pre-operation procedures.
Responsibilities
• Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body and medical equipment
• Assists in transporting patient to and from the operating room
• Will be actively involved in process improvement projects
• Works mainly in CVOR, but may float to Main Operating Room
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or 2 years' experience in an operating
room as a Surgical Scrub Tech and/or LPN or military training required
• 2 years’ experience, CVOR preferred
• Surgical Technician Certification (CST) required
• Operating room experience required
• Competent in more than two specialty areas
• Must be certified to perform CPR
• BLS required
