* Case Mix: CABG, robotic thoracic/chest cases, open and TAVR valves, LVAD and Impella placements

* Specialty Backup Available: Advanced Heart Failure team

* Support Staff Available: RNs: 2, PA/NPs: 1

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

* Endoscopic vein harvesting

* First assist in cardiothoracic surgeries

* CABG (5-8 per week)

* Robotic thoracic/chest cases (4-6 per week)

* Open and TAVR valve procedures

* LVAD and Impella placements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

* Licenses: State of NC

* Board: Cardiothoracic Surgery

* DEA: Required

* Certifications: Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies

* Experience: 2 years

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Perform endoscopic vein harvesting and first assist for cardiothoracic surgeries including CABG and robotic cases.

* Manage inpatient caseload of 5-8 CABGs and 4-6 robotic thoracic/chest cases per week.

* Assist with open and TAVR valve procedures as part of a comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical service.

* Collaborate with the advanced heart failure team to support occasional LVAD and Impella placements.

* Provide comprehensive inpatient care for adult cardiothoracic patients in conjunction with dedicated RN and PA support staff.
