Job Summary
The RN will deliver direct patient care to adult patients with a variety of medical-surgical and telemetry-related conditions including COPD, pneumonia, chest pain rule-outs, cellulitis, abdominal pain, neurological disorders, and substance withdrawal. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care while maintaining patient safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry setting
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias
• Administer medications, blood products, IV therapy, and oxygen therapy safely
• Manage and maintain peripheral IVs, PICC lines, central lines, and ports
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code Teams when necessary
• Care for patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Assist in the care of patients with CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal
• Perform wound care and support specialized treatments including CBI and heparin protocols
• Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR and Cerner Bridge systems
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Requirements
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility to qualify as traveler
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Certifications Required:
o BLS
o ACLS
