CT/Rad Tech Dual Modality
● ABOUT FACILITY:
o Facility is a freestanding ED providing Emergency care
o 12 ED beds
o Facility offers DX, CT and US Imaging
o RADIUS RULE: Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
● DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:
o Average Scans per day:
▪ DX/CT – 28
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 1 year in specialty
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Dependent on experience
● PATIENT TYPES/COMMON DIAGNOSES:
o Emergency patients: MVC, SOB, Falls, Injuries, DVT’s
● REQUIRED LICENSE, NATIONAL CERTIFICATION, CERTS (BLS, ACLS, ETC.), OR OTHER POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS SUCH AS DRIVER'S LICENSE AND/OR INSURANCE:
o DUAL MODALITY DX/CT TECH: BLS and ARRT RT(R)(CT) SKILLS REQUIRED:
o DUAL MODALITY DX/CT TECH: Skilled in both DX and CT for Dual technologist requests
● SUPPORT WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT:
o Typically, 2-3 technologists within radiology is staffed during the same shift. 1- ultrasound, 2 dual DX/CT techs depending on shift.
● TECHNOLOGY/EQUIPMENT:
o EMR: EPIC
o Phillips ISite/PACS
▪ Department specific Equipment:
● GE CT Scanner
● Siemens S2000 US machine
● Shimadzu XR equipment
● FLOATING: IF YES, WHERE?
o DX/CT Tech may take 2 nights a month of call for two freestanding ED facilities
● ORIENTATION (facility and unit):
o 3 days departmental
● SCHEDULING:
o On call? 2 nights a month. Technologist has the opportunity to choose the 2 nights.
o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
o RTO: Manager approval
o Shift times: 7a-7:30p or 7p-7:30a
● OTHER NOTES:
o Scrub Color: Black
