Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examinations specific to obstetric and gynecologic care Assist with clinical procedures such as pelvic exams, Pap smears, ultrasounds, and specimen collection with precision and aseptic technique Administer medications and injections accurately following physician orders, including IV infusions when necessary Educate patients on reproductive health, prenatal care, birth control options, and postnatal recovery to promote informed decision-making Document all patient interactions thoroughly within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner while adhering to HIPAA regulations Support triage activities by evaluating patient symptoms and determining urgency levels for appropriate care pathways Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for obstetric and gynecologic patients
