Deaf Interpreter

Adelphi is seeking Deaf Education Interpreters to provide services to students at schools in Lake Worth, Texas. The ideal candidates will provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation to ensure students who are deaf or hard of hearing have equal access to classroom instruction, educational programs, and school activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Certification by Texas Commission for the Deaf or Registry for the Deaf

• knowledge of the code of ethics established by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)

• School-based experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide interpreting and transliterating services for students with hearing impairments in instructional settings.

• Prepare for assignments by reviewing subject matter and relevant sign language vocabulary.

• Participate as a member of the educational team by contributing input on student progress and performance.

• Maintain FERPA-compliant confidentiality and professional conduct.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.
