Neurology Registered Nurse

A Neurology Registered Nurse opportunity is available in Gainesville, FL at a 523-bed acute care medical and surgical hospital that is certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and fully accredited by the Joint Commission. The hospital also holds an Accredited Chest Pain Center designation by the American College of Cardiology and is designated as a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery and Bariatric Surgery.

The role. Reporting within the neurology department, you will assess patients at admission and throughout each shift, promptly identifying and communicating changes in patient status to the care team. You will carry out provider-ordered procedures and monitoring, administer prescribed medications, observe patients for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action when unintended medication responses occur — documenting all care thoroughly and in a timely manner in the patient's medical record. A meaningful part of this role involves patient and family education: translating complex medical terminology into understandable language so patients, families, and caregivers fully grasp the diagnosis, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up steps.

What we're looking for.

• 1 year of RN experience required (any clinical setting considered, including LTAC and Home Health)
• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation
