RN Cardiac Telemetry Med-Surgical

A 523-bed, full-service acute care medical and surgical hospital in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Cardiac Telemetry Med-Surg unit. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission, certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, accredited as a Chest Pain Center by the American College of Cardiology (ACC), and designated as a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery and Bariatric Surgery.

The role. In this position, you will deliver patient-centered nursing care in the cardiac telemetry med-surg setting, working collaboratively with physicians and the broader care team. Each shift begins with a thorough patient assessment, with ongoing monitoring for changes in condition and prompt communication to the medical team when they arise. You will carry out provider-ordered procedures and monitoring, administer prescribed medications, observe patients for therapeutic response, and intervene appropriately if an unintended medication response occurs — documenting all care accurately and in a timely manner. You will also take an active role in patient and family education, translating complex medical information about diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care into terms patients and caregivers can understand and act on.

What we're looking for.

• 1 year of RN experience required (any setting, including LTAC, Home Health, etc.)
• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required; compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
