Duties

Conduct ultrasound examinations with precision, including maternal-fetal imaging, obstetric, gynecologic, and general diagnostic scans.
Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process clearly and addressing any concerns to ensure comfort.
Operate ultrasound equipment effectively while maintaining proper aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results accurately.
Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, findings, and patient information in compliance with hospital policies.
Assist in the development and implementation of protocols for advanced imaging procedures such as maternal-fetal medicine assessments.
Ensure equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and cleaned regularly to uphold safety standards.
Educate patients on the purpose of ultrasound procedures and post-examination care instructions.
Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and sonography practices through ongoing education.

Requirements

Certification or licensure as an Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer from an accredited program.
Proven experience in performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures across various specialties, including obstetrics and gynecology.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to sonography.
Familiarity with maternal-fetal medicine techniques and obstetric ultrasound applications.
Proficiency in medical imaging equipment operation and maintenance.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members.
Ability to apply aseptic techniques diligently during all procedures.
Knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles enhances the quality of imaging interpretation.
