Let us send your favorite nurse a special Nurses Week gift!

What’s better than a thoughtful Nurses Week gift? A thoughtful Nurses Week from someone who knows you well! That’s why this year, we want to try out something different. Every day we’re going to give out different nurse gifts… to nurses of your choice!

Let us surprise your favourite colleague. Your nurse bestie. Or just any fellow nurse who could do with a bit of comfort or encouragement. Just check in with our daily posts on Facebook, Insta, Twitter or LinkedIn to see what gifts we’re sending out that day, and tell us who we should pick and why!

What if your favorite nurse is… you?

Self-care is important, and right now every nurse deserves a nice present. So don’t be shy if our daily gift is something you like… just nominate yourself! We get it, and we’ll pick several lucky winners each day.

We have our eyes on a range of Nurses Week gifts, and we’re thinking either fun — or practical. So one day it might be a Nurse Coloring Book for Adults, a Giant Microbe plushie, or an “It’s Fine” badge reel — another day something properly useful like a Breeze Report Book, a fancy hand cream, or a good pen light. All you need to do is show up in our replies on Facebook, Insta, Twitter, LinkedIn — or even right here on our blog, where we will update this post every day.

DAY 1 — May 6: We’ll kick off the week with a rude little gift: the snarky Nurse Adult Coloring Book by Morgana Skye! Who should we send a copy to? Nominate yourself, or one of your colleagues or nurse friends in the comments or on our social media posts!

DAY 2 — May 7: We’ll be giving away 5 autographed copies of the cartoons book “Nurstoons: The Art of Nursing 2” by Carl Elbing.⁣ Who should we send one to and why? Nominate yourself or a nurse friend or colleague! 🤗

DAY 3 — May 8: Today we’re making several gifts of the badge reel that said it all, when it comes to this past year, featuring the iconic “It’s Fine” dumpster fire design.😁 If you prefer a kinder, gentler look, we can also gift you a cute Baby Yoda badge reel instead.😊 They’re both made by the same maker, Crystal Coffman — and she’s an ICU nurse! Nominate yourself or a nurse friend or colleague (and don’t forget to mention which one you’d like).

DAY 6 — May 11: We love to support a small, nurse-run business! That’s why we are giving away Breeze Report Books from Moxie PRN. And if the gift you’re thinking of is something that’s not practical for us to order online (like a bottle of wine for example), we’ll even send you the money via Paypal or Zelle instead. We support Support Our Scrubs!

Just over a year ago, the tireless mom of a Texas nurse saw Covid-19 spread across the US — and decided to do something. Rather than feed her anxieties, Crystella McIvor would feed nurses! She founded Support Our Scrubs, and that Nurses Week we joined her effort — and we are doing so again this year!

With our $1,000 donation, Crystella’s team will be bringing nurses at Children’s Medical Center Dallas a treat of Starbucks coffees and specially designed “Essential” t-shirts. They will use our contribution to give out “Essential” t-shirts as well to healthcare workers who attend the free yoga classes Support Our Scrubs organizes with Sarah Shiplett Yoga in Allen, TX.

There are so many nurses that are my heroes. We travelled to NY and worked the Covid crisis at it’s worst spring 2020. Then we travelled to Texas and helped them at their worst summer through the fall and once again back to Texas this past spring. We have all suffered losses personal and personal and professional. I have lost 5 family members and 1 dear friend. We missed birthdays, holidays, anniversaries and family members milestones all while supporting our sick and dying and communicating with their families. We were their nurses, their support their surrogate family, sometimes the last person they saw, spoke to or held hands with. There were so many nurses that stayed in their current positions in their home town holding things together while we were away. Nurses in general are self sacrificing, caring and empathetic professional human beings.
