Much of the conversation that used to happen on nursing blogs moved to audio and video. This page lists shows and channels that publish for nurses and had a working page when checked on 9 September 2026.
One caveat particular to this medium. Many podcasts exist only inside Apple Podcasts, Spotify or YouTube and have no site of their own, so a show missing here is not necessarily gone. Where a show has its own address, that is what is listed, because a platform page can vanish with the platform.
For new graduates and students
- FreshRN Podcast, aimed squarely at the first year: orientation, codes, delegation, time management and the deaths nobody prepares you for. The written side of the same project is on the nursing blogs list.
- Straight A Nursing, study strategy and clinical reasoning for nursing students, with episodes organised by course subject.
- NURSING.com podcasts, a family of shows covering nursing school, laboratory values and licensing exam preparation. See the NCLEX.
The first year is where most new nurses decide whether to stay, which is why this material exists in such volume. See nurse residency programs and nurse turnover and retention.
Specialty and clinical practice
- ONS Podcast, the Oncology Nursing Society's show, one of the longest-running specialty podcasts in nursing and unusual for being tied to a professional body's own education programme. See Oncology Nursing Society.
- Lippincott NursingCenter podcast, clinical practice updates from a nursing publisher.
- American Nurse Journal podcast, episodes accompanying articles in the journal published by the American Nurses Association.
Career, culture and community
- Nursing Uncensored, video and audio on the parts of the job that recruitment material leaves out.
- Nurse Blake, comedy and advocacy, and the largest nursing audience in the country by some distance.
- NurseDeck, interviews with nurses across settings and career stages.
Teaching channels
These are video-first and used mostly as study aids.
- RegisteredNurseRN, free lectures, quizzes and skills videos covering most of a nursing curriculum.
- Level Up RN, structured teaching videos and flashcards.
- SimpleNursing, examination-focused teaching material.
All three sell products alongside the free material, which is worth knowing while watching but does not make the teaching wrong.
Link rot in this medium is fast
Two shows that appeared in earlier round-ups illustrate the problem. One long-running podcast's domain now redirects to a social media page, and another's address has been taken over by an unrelated business that kept the old name. Neither is announced anywhere.
The practical consequence is the same as for the nursing blogs list: any list of shows older than a couple of years should be assumed to be partly wrong, and a dead link is more often abandonment than a move.
