Nursing Blogs

This is a list of blogs written by and for nurses. It began as two round-ups published on our own blog, in 2018 and 2020, and every address in those posts was rechecked on 9 September 2026 before appearing here.

The recheck is the point. Of the 148 sites in the original lists, 115 still answered and 33 had gone entirely. Several of the domains that answer are no longer nursing sites at all: a few are parked and offered for sale, and at least two have been taken over by unrelated businesses that kept the old address. Those have been removed rather than quietly left in. A small number of well-known sites block automated checking, so they could not be confirmed either way and are noted at the end.

Inclusion here is a record that a blog exists and publishes for nurses. It is not an endorsement of anything any of them says.

Journals, publishers and news

University and school blogs

These are marketing publications for nursing programmes as well as sources of advice, which is worth knowing while reading them.

Sites that could not be checked

Four well-known sites block automated requests, so their current state could not be confirmed and they are listed here rather than above: allnurses.com, nurse.com, the Johns Hopkins nursing magazine, and the University of California San Francisco Science of Caring. The Gypsy Nurse, a long-running travel nursing blog, now redirects to a different business.

What happened to the rest

Thirty-three addresses from the original round-ups no longer resolve at all. Among the losses are several thoughtful specialty blogs, including a neonatal travel nurse, a nurse-run vaccination advocacy site, and a number of personal diaries that stopped during or after the pandemic.

That attrition is the ordinary fate of personal publishing, and it is the reason this page records when each link was checked. Anyone using an older list of nursing blogs should assume roughly a fifth to a quarter of it is gone.
