Here in North Las Vegas, we live in a city that exudes a vibrant, lively spirit, marked by its distinct charm and growing nursing job market. With the Bureau of Labor Statistics reporting that the national mean annual wage for registered nurses is about $77,600, and $77,510 in Nevada specifically, our local salary range for nurses tends to be slightly lower, averaging between $70,000 to $75,000 annually or about $33.65 to $36.06 hourly. North Las Vegas is characterized by its notable landmarks, such as the majestic Las Vegas Natural History Museum and the sprawling Craig Ranch Regional Park, all within a city that is constantly evolving with new developments. We stand out from nearby Henderson and Las Vegas, which have higher average wages but also more competitive job markets.
I moved to North Las Vegas for one job and discovered a city full of possibilities for nurses.
The North Las Vegas nursing job market is thriving and expected to see substantial growth in the coming years. With an estimated need for approximately 200 new registered nurses annually to match the rapid population growth projected to reach over 270,000 by 2025, the demand for nursing staff is rising significantly. Currently, we estimate around 1,800 nurses are actively employed in our city, offering their expertise across numerous facilities. Travel nursing positions are also on the rise, especially during peak tourist seasons, as hospitals and clinics prepare for higher patient volumes. Per diem nursing jobs are popular as well, providing flexibility for many of us. Nursing facilities in North Las Vegas such as the North Vista Hospital and Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center are key employers in the region. When compared to nearby cities like Henderson, which boasts a stronger travel nursing presence at around 15% more travel registered nurse jobs, North Las Vegas still holds its own, with ample opportunities that don’t sacrifice work-life balance.
