Registered Nurse (RN) – Labour & Delivery (L&D) – Contract Position

🕒 Shift: Night Shift | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
⏰ Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week

Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. The RN will monitor patients, assist with deliveries, perform assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure safe, high-quality maternal and neonatal care.

Responsibilities:
Provide nursing care for laboring patients, postpartum mothers, and newborns.
Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs.
Assist physicians during labor and delivery procedures.
Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as ordered.
Provide patient education and emotional support to families.
Respond quickly to emergencies and changes in patient conditions.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care.
Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams.

Requirements:
Active Washington State RN License
American Heart Association BLS Certification
NRP Certification
C-EFM Certification
Minimum 1 year of Labour & Delivery experience preferred
Ability to float between Skagit Valley Hospital and Cascade Valley Hospital as needed
