OR RN – Operating Room Nurse

Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week

Position Overview
The Operating Room Registered Nurse delivers high‑quality perioperative care as part of a skilled surgical team. This role supports patients through all phases of surgery, ensuring safety, sterile technique, and seamless coordination with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical technologists. Glenbrook Hospital is known for its strong, supportive OR team and high clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities
Provide circulating and/or scrub support for surgical procedures

Maintain sterile technique and ensure a safe operative environment

Prepare rooms, equipment, and instruments for scheduled cases

Assess and monitor patients throughout the perioperative process

Document care accurately and efficiently

Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth case flow

Support patient advocacy and safety initiatives

Required Qualifications
Active IL RN license

BLS certification

Strong knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative best practices

Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical‑thinking skills



1 recent supervisor reference

IL license verification

2+ years of OR experience

Epic experience

Ophthalmology circulating required (scrubbing highly preferred)

DaVinci Robot – General Surgery experience

At least 1 completed travel contract
