REQUIREMENTS:

* High school diploma or equivalent
* Graduate of an accredited RN program
* BSN is desired but not required
* Gastroenterology / Endoscopy Lab experience
* Orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT surgical procedures and interventional pain management experience is required.
* Current licensure as RN, in good standing
* Current AHA BLS certification
* Current ACLS certification
* Current PALS certification
* CNOR certification
* Minimum 2 years of experience.
* Must have Cerner EHR experience.
* 2+ years of experience

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Coordinating and managing safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care for surgical patients throughout the perioperative process including the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.
* Provide support, education, direct care to patients, and act as a liaison between the surgical team and the patient families/support systems.
* Using a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care, the perioperative nurse works closely with the entire surgical team.
* The perioperative registered nurse may serve as a: (1) Circulating Nurse, (2) 1st Scrub (Instrument) Nurse, and/or (3) 2nd Scrub (Assistant) Nurse depending on level of experience and training.
