Lead Orthopedic Charge Nurse at Modern Surgical Center

Ambulatory Surgical Center | 3x12-Hour Shifts
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operating Room Charge Nurse specializing in Orthopedics to join our dynamic team at a fast-paced Ambulatory Surgical Center in Burlington County NJ. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced OR nurse who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
Position Overview
The OR Charge Nurse will provide clinical leadership and oversight of daily surgical operations across four operating rooms, with a focus on orthopedic procedures. This role ensures efficient workflow, staff coordination, and optimal patient outcomes while serving as a key liaison between departments and external partners. The position also includes hands-on clinical responsibilities.
Schedule
• Three (3) 12-hour shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise operating room staff to ensure safe, efficient surgical procedures
• Coordinate daily OR case flow with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical team members
• Provide staff support by relieving team members for lunches and breaks
• Occasionally circulate in the operating room as needed
• Collaborate with orthopedic sales representatives to ensure appropriate equipment, implants, and instrumentation are available
• Oversee communication and coordination between Central Supply, Pre-Op, and PACU departments
• Maintain compliance with surgical standards, infection control protocols, and accreditation requirements
• Act as a clinical resource and mentor for OR staff
• Address and resolve operational or patient care issues in real time
• Uphold and enforce compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards

Qualifications
• Registered Nurse (RN) with a current, active New Jersey license
• Minimum of 3 years of Operating Room experience, with a strong focus in orthopedics
• Proven leadership and charge nurse experience preferred
• Demonstrated experience working with orthopedic vendors and sales representatives
• Strong understanding of surgical workflow across, OR, Central Supply, and Pre-Op & PACU
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment
