American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters

Adelphi Medical Staffing is seeking American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters to provider interpretation and communication support to students at colleges in North Carolina(NC). ASL Interpreters will facilitate effective communication in the classroom, meetings, and other events. Services are on a as-needed-basis and contingent upon student enrollment, special events and specific needs within the colleges.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 1-2 years minimum of school/education experience

• EIPA certification, NCITLB provisional or full, or other certifications

• Flexible Schedules

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Communicate spoken information meaning-for-meaning and communicate the information in the manner in which it is intended.

• Assists by voicing comments or questions communicated in a mutually agreed upon manner.

• Facilitate communication between the student and others (the professor, other students, etc.).

• Interpret multimedia elements shown in class.

• Render correct concepts and meanings according to the conventions of established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions.

• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.

• Other duties as will be given within the job scope.
