Job Description
Summary:
We are seeking a Medical Assistant (MA-C) to join a high-volume adult outpatient clinic. The ideal candidate will be a local professional with strong clinical and communication skills, healthcare terminology familiarity, and Epic charting experience. This role supports physicians and nurses in providing direct patient care and administrative support within a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:
Greet and room patients, verify history, medications, and allergies
Perform vital signs (BP, pulse, respirations, temperature), vision and hearing screenings
Prepare exam rooms and assist with procedures such as nebulizer treatments and immunizations
Collect and label specimens (urine, throat swabs, venipuncture)
Conduct blood glucose testing with glucometer
Administer TB tests, remove sutures, support post-visit follow-up
Manage phone calls, medication refill requests, and patient triage
Support Epic documentation and patient data accuracy
Float within scope as needed to support clinic demands
Key Requirements
Local candidates only (within 50 miles of facility)
Candidate must have own reliable transportation
MA-C certification required (MA-R not accepted)
Must have working knowledge of Epic, medical terminology, and outpatient clinic workflows
Reliable attendance and flexibility required
Qualifications
Education:
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting
Epic EMR experience required
License & Certifications:
MA-C (Medical Assistant - Certified) – Required
BLS – Required
MA-R applicants will not be accepted
