• Perform physical assessments and address patients' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
• Collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
• Provide comprehensive care to patients before, during, and after surgery.

• Verify patient information, history/physical record, NPO status, surgical site, and consent forms.
• Ensure the patient or designated decision maker understands the planned procedure, and the surgeon discusses risks and benefits with the patient and family members.
• Communicate with the surgical team for any changes or discrepancies in the surgical consent and the patient's understanding of the planned procedure.
• Prepare the operating room and gather equipment and surgical instruments, medications, positioners, and other items/supplies needed for the case.
• Maintains aseptic techniques when opening sterile supplies and instrument trays to the scrub person.
• Anticipate the surgical team's needs (surgeon, anesthesia, surgical techs, PAs) and provide necessary assistance promptly.
• Handles and logs surgical specimens.
• Complete Intraoperative documentation
• Advocate for patients' rights and well-being.
•Safeguard patient confidentiality and privacy, address concerns, and facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Work closely with other healthcare professionals (surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical techs, charge nurse)
• Collaborate with preoperative and post-recovery nurses to coordinate care before and after the surgical procedure.
