Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced OR Nurse Manager to lead our surgical services team in a fast-paced, high-quality healthcare environment. Duties

* Lead and supervise the perioperative nursing team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
* Oversee daily OR scheduling, patient flow, and resource allocation to ensure smooth surgical operations.
* Ensure adherence to sterile techniques, infection control protocols, and safety standards across all surgical procedures.
* Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff to facilitate seamless communication and optimal patient care.
* Monitor clinical performance metrics, implement quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and NCQA standards.
* Manage medical documentation, including surgical records, and other essential medical records for accuracy and completeness.
* Provide ongoing staff training on EMR systems like Nextech and Surglogs, aseptic techniques, and advanced procedures such as catheterization or ventilator management.

Qualifications

* Valid nursing license with current registration; bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or higher required.
* Extensive experience in operating room nursing or surgical services; prior nurse management or supervisory experience is essential.
* Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Nextech, Epic; strong understanding of medical terminology and physiology.
* Demonstrated expertise in critical care environments including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma experience preferred.
* Knowledge of advanced surgical procedures including cardiac catheterization, spinal tap, or ophthalmology procedures is highly desirable.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining high standards of patient care.
* Ability to work under pressure; excellent communication skills are essential.
