Rehabilitation Services Manager (Physical Therapist)

Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Salary: Dependent on Education & Experience
Location: Winnebago, NE
Reports To: Chief Medical Officer

Position Summary

The Rehabilitation Services Manager (Physical Therapist) leads the daily clinical operations of the Rehab Services Department while providing direct patient care. This role is responsible for supervising staff, managing departmental performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering high-quality patient-centered rehabilitation services.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Administration

Supervise, train, evaluate, and support Rehabilitation Services staff.

Lead departmental planning, budgeting, and policy development.

Facilitate staff meetings and communicate organizational updates.

Promote a collaborative and team-oriented work environment.

Develop short- and long-range plans aligned with organizational goals.

Acquire, maintain, and oversee proper use of equipment.

Operations & Quality Management

Monitor and improve operational efficiency and service quality.

Implement and oversee continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and organizational regulations (including HIPAA and CMS).

Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and standards of care.

Manage staffing patterns, workflows, and documentation processes.

Clinical Services

Provide direct patient care as needed to maintain clinical competencies.

Guide patient assessments, treatment planning, and therapy outcomes.

Ensure treatment plans meet individualized patient goals.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Apply best practices in rehabilitation care and customer service.

Program Development & Education

Plan and coordinate preventive care, health promotion, and patient education programs.

Develop and oversee training programs, internships, and continuing education initiatives.

Provide education to staff, students, and community members.

Support professional development and staff enrichment programs.

Performance & Compliance

Establish and evaluate employee performance standards.

Initiate personnel actions including promotions, reassignments, and corrective actions.

Maintain accurate, confidential patient and departmental records.

Support positive patient experience outcomes, balancing care quality, cost, and satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

Current, unrestricted Physical Therapist license in Nebraska.

Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience preferred (or 3 years with a Doctorate).

At least 1 year of management experience preferred.

Certifications

Current CPR certification required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong clinical knowledge of physical therapy practices, anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation techniques.

Ability to assess, diagnose, and modify treatment plans effectively.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Experience with quality improvement and program development.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Cultural awareness and sensitivity in patient care delivery.

Knowledge of healthcare systems, policies, and interdisciplinary coordination.

Preferred Experience

Experience working with Indian Health Services (IHS), Tribal organizations, or diverse populations.

Physical & Work Requirements

Ability to lift and assist patients (moderate to heavy lifting required).

Prolonged standing, walking, and sitting.

Frequent use of computers, phones, and office equipment.

Effective verbal and written communication skills required.

Conditions of Employment

Successful completion of background check, drug screening, and health clearance (including immunizations and TB testing).

Compliance with applicable federal regulations regarding criminal history disclosures.
