Altru is currently managed in ShiftWise Flex, and we are working to fill this role. Vendors will need to be added to the ShiftWise Flex vendor pool if their candidate is offered and accepts the contract. Circulating and Scrub RN for Altru Devils Lake Hospital location The hours can be flexible, we can do 8's, 10's or 12's. There would be no call during the weekend and only call during the week. Straight day shifts. Background in Rural Setting Additional Skills needed: c-sections, hand cases, podiatry, and cataracts Nd or compact license - no hits allowed Travel experience required Epic experience required The OR Circulator/Scrub Nurse is responsible for: Providing safe, evidence-based care to surgical patients throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and immediate postoperative phases. Functioning as the circulating nurse by coordinating patient care, maintaining the sterile environment, documenting the surgical procedure, advocating for patient safety, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Functioning as the scrub nurse by establishing and maintaining the sterile field, preparing instruments and supplies, anticipating surgeon needs, passing instruments and medications, and maintaining accurate counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments. Collaborating effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team to promote positive patient outcomes. Demonstrating proficiency across multiple surgical specialties, which may include general surgery, hand surgery, gynecology, obstetrics, ophthalmology, podiatry, ENT, endoscopy, and other specialty procedures based on facility services. Taking call for only c-sections. Participating in emergency and trauma procedures as required and responding effectively to changes in patient condition. Assisting with inventory management, equipment troubleshooting, quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and orientation of new staff as needed. Demonstrating flexibility to adapt to fluctuating surgical volumes, staffing needs, and expanded responsibilities common in rural healthcare environments. Promoting a culture of patient safety, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to organizational policies and standards. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure. Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS as required by facility. Demonstrated competency in both circulating and scrub roles.
