Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Polysomnographic Technologist with at least 1 year of experience working with adult and pediatric patients to join the Sleep Lab team at Providence Health and Services. This is a 13-week travel assignment, working night shifts. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Candidates must be comfortable with a 1:2 adult ratio and 1:1 for pediatrics.
Responsibilities:
Conduct sleep studies, including MSLT, titration (CPAP, BiPAP, ASV, VPAP, oxygen), and PSG scoring
Monitor and assess patients during studies, recognizing and responding to critical events
Accurately score and stage sleep, including arousals, sleep stages, and respiratory events
Educate patients on sleep study procedures and mask fittings (nasal, nasal pillow, and full face)
Utilize equipment including Alice 6 G3 software and ResMed CPAP units
Maintain documentation in the Epic charting system
Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff and float between similar units as needed
Comply with infection control policies and ensure a safe patient environment
Key Requirements:
Experience with adult and pediatric sleep studies
Knowledge of PSG scoring, titration methods, and seizure study protocols
Familiarity with equipment including Alice and ResMed
Comfortable working with a patient ratio of 1:2 (adult) and 1:1 (pediatric)
Must be able to float between like units
Must submit RTO at time of submission
Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week pay period
Qualifications
Education:
Completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)-accredited Polysomnographic Technologist program (preferred)
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of recent sleep lab experience required
Experience in both community hospital and pediatric settings preferred
Travel experience not required
License:
RPSGT or RRT with SDS credential (required)
California state license (required, pending not accepted)
BLS certification (required)
