Occupational Therapist

Adelphi is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to provide on-site therapy services for a school in Sarasota County, Florida.

The ideal candidate will work closely with school administration to provide services to students in accordance with established guidelines and standards of practice.

Requirements:

• A valid School Occupational Therapist Licensed by the state of Florida. Certified by the state of Florida or an Occupational Therapy Assistant Licensed by the State of Florida

• Minimum one (1) year of experience working with students in a school setting.

• Minimum one (1) year of experience working with students with multiple disabilities.

• Minimum one (1) year of experience participating in IEP meetings.

• Minimum one (1) year of experience writing therapy goals for IEPs.

Responsibilities:

• Reassess each student’s progress at least once per month.

• Administer screenings, evaluations, observations, and reevaluations as requested.

• Complete IEP recommendations and evaluations as well as participate in meetings regarding IEP reports and long-term and shortterm planning.

• Provide interaction and monitor proper feeding, sensory input, posture, and overall lunchroom etiquette.

• Be involved in classes such as adaptive education classes, gym class, and swimming when applicable.

• Have direct, in person contact with the contracted occupational therapist assistant when an assistant is required, at least once every two weeks (14 calendar days).

• Be available by telecommunication.

• Provide an on-site evaluation of each student’s occupational therapy a minimum of once per calendar month for every tenth day of occupational therapy; whichever is sooner and adjust the

  occupational therapy as appropriate.
