PA or RN | Emergency Department (ED) | Nights | Pennsylvania

Description

Provides professional nursing care in the Emergency Department in accordance with Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) standards. The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes for patients across the lifespan, from neonates to geriatrics. This role may include scheduled on-call assignments as needed to support patient volume fluctuations related to community events.

Join a fast-paced Emergency Department team providing high-quality, patient-centered care. In this role, you will triage patients upon arrival, assess their medical needs, and prioritize care based on clinical urgency. You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, document patient history and chief complaints, and develop individualized care plans that are continuously updated based on patient condition.

The ED RN monitors patients closely, recognizes changes in health status, and responds quickly to emergencies while following hospital policies and ENA standards of care. Responsibilities include hourly patient rounding, patient and family education, discharge planning, and accurate documentation to support safe and effective treatment.

This role also involves collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, ensuring emergency equipment and supplies are ready for use, and helping patients and families understand their treatment plans and discharge instructions. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic emergency setting and is committed to delivering compassionate, efficient care.
