RN - Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) - Nights - $80/hr

JOB SUMMARY: CARDIOVASCULAR INTENSIVE CARE NURSE (CVICU RN)

- Provide direct care to immediate post-operative open heart patients, especially during first-day recovery.
- Deliver nursing care in a 10-bed Cardiovascular ICU within a hospital of 36 licensed inpatient beds, serving higher acuity cardiac cases.
- Care for a variety of medical and surgical patients, including but not limited to: pediatrics, pre/post PCI, pacemaker, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, sepsis.
- Monitor and manage hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients, recognizing and intervening in deteriorating conditions.
- Operate and manage advanced medical equipment: central lines, A-lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, multiple IVs, and ventilatory support systems (noninvasive and invasive).
- Interpret cardiac telemetry and EKG, and perform other critical care monitoring.
- Collaborate with providers, healthcare professionals, and allied health staff.
- Report to Providers, Charge Nurse, ICU Director, and CNO; provide direction to LPNs, CNAs, Housekeeping, and Dietary staff.
- Act as a clinical leader and preceptor for new or less-experienced staff.
- Participate in patient care from admission to discharge, including discharge planning.
- Maintain and implement established nursing policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
- Night shift position; permanent placement with negotiable salary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and Degree from an Accredited Nursing Program.
- Recent experience in critical care and open heart recovery nursing required.
- Advanced knowledge of critical care nursing principles and procedures.
- Skills in operating advanced medical equipment and interpreting EKGs.
- Current RN licensure (State of Montana), BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- Strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
