REQUIREMENTS:

* Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Wisconsin.
* Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
* Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant (RNFA) program or other recognized first-assisting education program.
* BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
* 1+ years of related operating room/surgical experience preferred.
* Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assists the surgical team to prepare and organize sterile supplies, instruments, equipment, and drapes for surgical procedures.
* Assists the surgical team to position the patient for the surgical procedure in a manner to provide a safe patient experience.
* Assists in providing visualization and utilizes appropriate techniques to assist with hemostasis.
* Utilizes appropriate visualization of the operative site.
* Assists with closure of body planes utilizing appropriate techniques.
* Applies appropriate wound dressing.
* Assists in inserting and securing drainage systems to tissue.
* Safely utilizes surgical equipment and supplies such as pneumatic tourniquets, electrocautery, and endoscopy equipment.
* Performs other duties as requested.
