The Surgical Technologist works under the direct supervision of the surgeon and the perioperative nursing team to ensure safe, efficient, and sterile surgical procedures. This role is responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile technique, assisting during surgical procedures, and ensuring all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are available and functioning properly. The Surgical Technologist anticipates the needs of the surgical team, passes instruments and supplies during procedures, handles specimens according to facility protocols, and assists with patient positioning, skin preparation, and room turnover between cases. The technologist maintains accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps to promote patient safety while adhering to infection control, regulatory, and hospital policies. Strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment are essential.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, Day Shift.
Staggered start times between 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Shared on-call rotation every 4th weekend.
Specialty:

Subspecialty: OR Technologist / Surgical Technologist
Surgical Technologist Diploma required.
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
Current BLS/CPR (BCLS) certification required.
Knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques.
Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and multitasking skills.
