Adelphi is seeking a qualified contract Physical Therapist (PT) to provide school-based physical therapy services to students with special needs throughout various schools in Brownsville, Texas.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with District personnel to assess and address students’ motor skills and functional living needs through evaluation, direct and indirect therapy services in accordance with District policies and established professional standards.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Current and unrestricted license to practice physical therapy in the State of Texas.
• School-based and/or pediatric physical therapy experience preferred.
• Experience assessing and providing therapeutic services to students with disabilities and functional motor needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide school-based physical therapy services to students in various schools throughout Brownsville.
• Assess students’ motor, mobility, functional living, positioning, and school-access needs.
• Provide direct and indirect physical therapy services based on students’ identified educational and functional needs.
• Collect and maintain data to monitor student progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and other school personnel to support students’ functional participation in the school environment.
• Provide training and consultation to teachers and District staff regarding therapy strategies, mobility, positioning, equipment, and student support needs.
• Complete required District documentation, including attendance records, assurance logs, session notes, assessment reports, and other Special Services records.
• Follow District policies, procedures, campus protocols, dress code, instructional calendar, and administrative chain of command.
• Sign in at the campus office when reporting to a school and remain on-site for the duration of the assigned service period.
• Attend required meetings, consultations, staff development activities, and planning sessions and perform other related PT duties as assigned.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.
