Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner specializing in Interventional Pain Management provides comprehensive care to patients suffering from acute and chronic pain resulting from accidents, including motor vehicle collisions, workplace injuries, and other trauma-related events. The NP is to evaluate injuries, develop treatment plans, and support functional recovery.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis
• Perform detailed patient evaluations, including history of present illness, mechanism of injury, and physical examination
• Diagnose and manage accident-related conditions such as:
o Cervical and lumbar spine injuries
o Whiplash and soft tissue injuries
o Disc herniations and radiculopathy
o Joint injuries and musculoskeletal trauma
o Chronic post-traumatic pain syndromes
• Order diagnostic imaging and tests (MRI, CT, X-rays,EEG)
• Develop individualized treatment plans

Interventional Pain Management
• Conduct pre-procedure evaluations and post-procedure follow-up care
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to optimize outcomes

Care Coordination
• Coordinate multidisciplinary treatment plans with:
o Physical therapists
o Orthopedic and spine specialists
o Neurologists and other providers
• Facilitate referrals and ensure continuity of care
• Participate in case management for patients with complex or prolonged recovery

Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely medical records
• Document injury details clearly, including causation and functional limitations
• Complete reports required for insurance, disability, or legal purposes
• Ensure compliance with state regulations, payer guidelines, and clinic policies

Patient Education & Support
• Educate patients on diagnoses, procedures, recovery expectations, and lifestyle modifications
• Promote safe use of medications and adherence to treatment plans
• Provide support for patients coping with pain, injury-related stress, and recovery timelines

Medication Management
• Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with scope of practice
• Monitor effectiveness, side effects, and potential misuse
• Utilize multimodal pain management strategies when appropriate

Experience
• Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical NP experience preferred
• Experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or trauma care strongly preferred
• Familiarity with accident-related injury care and documentation is an asset

Qualifications
Education & Licensure
• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
• Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice
• Board certification (FNP, AGNP, or ANP preferred)
• DEA registration with prescriptive authority
