REQUIREMENTS:

* 2+ years of experience
* 2+ years’ experience as a critical care RN (i.e., ER & ICU) in a hospital setting may be accepted substitute for PACU nurse experience.
* Valid BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
* A valid professional license within the state of practice
* A Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credential from the American Heart Association is recommended and may be required for specific registered nurses and travel nurse positions.
* Other specialty-related certifications are preferred and may be required for specific positions (i.e.NIHSS & TNCC)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Caring of patients pre op, phase I and phase II recovery.
* PACU nurses care for patients after surgery and must demonstrate advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and carrying for patients in Phase I. Candidates for PACU jobs require critical care skills to assess incision sites, monitor body temperature, and track other indicators of stability or complications. Ideal candidates for post-anesthesia care units have natural abilities to think critically. Past experience in critical care and surgical nursing is a plus.
