Description

Join our dedicated healthcare team in the vibrant community of Robinson as a Travel/Contract Registered Nurse specializing in Infusion. With an estimated gross salary of $2760 per week, this opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact on patient care while enjoying the adventures of travel nursing. As a compassionate and skilled nurse, you will perform comprehensive assessments, coordinate interdisciplinary screenings, and provide personalized patient education that honors individual needs and backgrounds.

In this role, you'll leverage your expertise to manage pain effectively, prepare and administer medications, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients. Your strong communication skills will be crucial as you collaborate with a diverse team, assist in procedures, and follow protocols that emphasize patient safety. If you hold a current IL RN License, BLS and ACLS certifications, as well as ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification, and have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience—preferably in chemotherapy—this position is an excellent fit for your career. Requirements

Performs accurate and complete assessment of patients; coordinates and ensures completion of interdisciplinary screenings and assessments; assesses and reassesses pain; assessments are age, culture and psychosocial appropriate.
Provides patient care with consideration of the patient’s needs, age, culture and appropriate standards of care.
Educates the patient/ family regarding treatment plan and follow up instructions given per provider instructions including any education handouts.
Assesses the effectiveness of pain medications; ability to revise care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment.
Prepares and administers medications based on age / clinical condition of the patient per policy and nursing standards of care; manages supply of medications and contacts pharmacy as needed to ensure uninterrupted medication therapy.
Ability to manage antineoplastic agents and therapy following safety protocols, in consideration of physical and psychological effects, risks and benefits.
Explains procedures to patient/family; utilizes specialty equipment; assists practitioners(s) with procedures; utilizes other departments to provide interdisciplinary care as appropriate; utilizes pain management techniques.
Follows medical records documentation guidelines regarding timeliness of reviews and completeness of documentation; obtains and documents accurate and thorough patient medical history including pertinent history, pain assessment, current medications, identified health risk factors and other needed information.
Performs all aspects of the position in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors; utilizes established hand-off communication protocols; maintains the security of the department.
Complies with all established safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Participates in performance improvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

BLS Required
ACLS Required
ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certified through the Oncology Nurse Society Required
Registered Nurse minimum 2 years Preferred
Chemotherapy experience preferred
Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate EMR programs
