Interim Director of Nursing (DON) - Long Term Care - Springer, NM

Colfax Long Term Care Facility in Springer, New Mexico is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Nursing to lead its nursing department on a contract basis. The Interim DON will oversee all nursing operations and ensure high-quality, resident-centered care in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities include:
- Directing and supervising nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs), including scheduling, staffing, hiring, and performance management
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal (CMS) regulations and maintaining survey readiness
- Developing and implementing nursing policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives
- Overseeing care plans, MDS coordination, infection control, and clinical documentation
- Collaborating with the Administrator, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary team
- Serving as a clinical resource and point of contact for residents and families

Schedule: Monday-Friday day shift with administrative on-call responsibilities. Contract/interim assignment with start ASAP.

Required:
- Active RN license in New Mexico or a multistate compact license
- Minimum 2 years of nursing leadership experience (DON, ADON, or similar) in long-term care/skilled nursing
- Working knowledge of CMS/state LTC regulations and the survey process
- Current BLS/CPR certification

Preferred:
- BSN or higher
- Prior interim or turnaround DON experience
- MDS/RAI experience
