International Boarding Highschool (UWC-USA) Head Nurse / Supervisor

Description

UWC-USA is a two-year, co-ed boarding school in Montezuma, New Mexico, founded in 1982. It educates roughly 220 students aged 16–19 from over 90 countries, focusing on the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, experiential education, community service, and environmental stewardship.

The Head Nurse/Supervisor provides comprehensive nursing care, health education, and health promotion to support students' well-being and full participation in the UWC-USA experience. The Head Nurse/Supervisor assesses, treats, coordinates, and refers students for medical care as appropriate; supervises and supports clinic staff; and oversees the daily operations of the UWC-USA Health Clinic. Working collaboratively with on-site and consulting physicians, the Clinical Supervisor of Mental Health, Health Clinic Staff, Residential Life staff, and other members of the school community, the Head Nurse/Supervisor helps ensure coordinated, student-centered care.

The position is responsible for maintaining accurate health records and ensuring that clinic policies, protocols, and medication management practices comply with the requirements of the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy, the New Mexico Department of Health, and other applicable regulatory and accrediting bodies. The Head Nurse/Supervisor serves as a member of the Health Team, maintains effective communication with students, parents and guardians, employees, and external healthcare providers, and ensures the clinic is appropriately staffed, supplied, and equipped to meet student healthcare needs, including coordinating transportation for medical appointments when required.

Employment with UWC-USA offers you the chance to join a great team of faculty and staff who support these students on their journey, while residing on our gorgeous campus in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains - we even have hot spring baths right here on our campus and our school features the iconic Montezuma Castle building at it's core (and where the Health Office is).

The school features industry-leading benefits, to include a 75% Employer contribution towards health/dental/vision insurance coverage (even at the full family level), up to 8% Employer salary match for contributions to your automatically vested 403b retirement account, and Employer paid Short and Long Term disability insurance.

On campus basic (small apartment) housing is offered for this position, including 7-days weekly of meals in our Dining Hall featuring a great selection of food and a social dining environment, among the resident and non-resident faculty and staff and our incredible students. Our campus features a friendly, welcoming and supportive international faculty community and their families and an excellent on-site gym and sports facility with employee access.

The nearby town of Las Vegas, New Mexico offers access to community, shopping, dining and more while nearby Santa Fe (our state capitol and a worldwide tourist destination) offers all sorts of amenities, with world class dining and shopping, accommodation, snow skiing, regional airport (SAF), entertainment and even a summer-season Opera House. Albuquerque is two hours from campus and provides for medium size city amenities and an International Airport (ABQ).
