Physical Therapist

Adelphi is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist to provide on-site therapy services for a School in Sarasota County, Florida.

The ideal candidate will work closely with school administration to provide services to students in accordance with established guidelines and standards of practice.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Therapists shall have a valid School Physical Therapist Licensed by the state of Florida. Certified by the state of Florida.

• Minimum one (1) year of experience working with students in a school setting.

• Minimum one (1) year of experience working with students with multiple disabilities.

• Minimum one (1) year of experience participating in IEP meetings.

• Minimum one (1) year of experience writing therapy goals for IEPs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be a resource to teachers, aids, and other staff for seating adaptations, sensory problems, and adaptive equipment usage as needed.

• Reassess each student’s progress at least once per month.

• Complete IEP recommendations and evaluations.

• Participate in IEP meetings regarding IEP reports and long-term and short-term planning.

• Be a resource to teachers, aids, and other staff for seating adaptations, sensory problems, and adaptive equipment usage as needed.

• Be involved with lunchtime activities providing interaction and monitoring proper feeding, sensory input, posture, and overall lunchroom etiquette

• Be involved in classes such as adaptive education classes, gym class, and swimming when applicable.

• Have direct, in person contact with the contracted physical therapy assistant when an assistant is required, at least once every two weeks (14 calendar days).
