Equity Staffing Group is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with PACU experience to join a busy Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in Arlington, Washington.
This role is responsible for providing exceptional pre-operative and post-anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical and gastrointestinal procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment skills, experience in a fast-paced surgical setting, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care and education.
Schedule
Four (4) 10-hour shifts per week
Monday through Friday
Shift options:
6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive nursing care throughout the patient surgical experience, including pre-operative assessment, recovery room monitoring, patient education, discharge planning, and coordination of care. This role requires excellent clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team.
Essential Responsibilities
Pre-Operative Care
Admit and prepare patients for surgical and GI procedures
Perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments and review patient histories
Verify procedural readiness and ensure all required documentation is complete
Start and maintain intravenous (IV) access
Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and post-operative care
Post-Anesthesia Care (PACU)
Monitor patients during Phase I and Phase II recovery
Assess and document patient status, vital signs, pain levels, and recovery progress
Recognize and respond appropriately to post-operative complications
Administer medications and treatments as ordered
Collaborate with anesthesia providers and physicians to ensure safe patient recovery
Discharge Planning & Patient Education
Provide comprehensive discharge instructions to patients and caregivers
Educate patients on medications, activity restrictions, wound care, and follow-up appointments
Remove IV lines and complete discharge documentation
Ensure patients meet discharge criteria and are safely released from the facility

Required Qualifications
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Diploma in Nursing, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Washington
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Previous PACU experience required
Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
Excellent communication and patient education abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with gastrointestinal (GI) procedures
Experience caring for cataract surgery patients
Previous Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience
Familiarity with surgical workflows and post-anesthesia recovery protocols
