The Licensed Practical Nurse Occupational/Employee Health Nurse is responsible to a nurse executive/Director of Occupational Health. He/She collaborates with employees, employers, members of the occupational health and safety team and other professionals to: identify health and safety needs; prioritize interventions; develop and implement interventions and programs; and evaluate care and service delivery.
The LPN could work in Family Care, Ortho, or Internal Medicine.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following
Clinical and primary care including assessment, diagnosis, management and documentation of occupational and non-occupational illness and injury
Case management for occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries
Health hazard assessment and surveillance of employee populations, workplaces and community groups
Investigation, monitoring and analysis of illness and injury episodes and trends, as well as methods to promote and protect employee health and safety
Compliance with laws, regulations and standards governing health and safety for employees and the environment
Management and administration of occupational and environmental health services
Health promotion and disease prevention strategies using primary, secondary and tertiary principle
Counseling, health education and training programs using adult learning approaches
Research related to occupational and environmental health

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing. Required
Experience: 1-2 years health care experience. Required
Occupational and/or Employee Health experience preferred.
Required Skills: Current NH LPN license. Required Certification in specialty area preferred. Breath Alcohol Technician Certification. Preferred
Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Able to work independently and have good organizational skills.
