AnMed is South Carolina’s largest, independent not-for-profit health system and one of only four health systems in the state to be a three-time designated Magnet facility for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Its mission is to passionately blend the art of caring with the science of medicine to optimize the health of patients, staff, and the community. The 690-bed health system is anchored by AnMed Medical Center, a 461-bed acute care hospital. AnMed also has a satellite North Campus which includes the 72-bed AnMed Women’s and Children’s Hospital, the 55-bed AnMed Rehabilitation Hospital, physician offices, and the Cardiac and Orthopedic Center. Major service lines include Heart Care, Ortho Care, Women’s and Children’s Services, and a variety of diagnostic and surgical services. AnMed serves an eight-county area that covers much of the Upstate and northeast Georgia. The health system’s medical staff includes roughly 400 physicians, and with close to 4,000 employees, AnMed is Anderson County’s largest employer.
