Monida Healthcare Staffing Solutions
About the Role
We're seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our travel staffing team supporting rural healthcare facilities throughout Montana. This role is ideal for nurses who thrive in small-facility settings, enjoy variety in their assignments, and are comfortable wearing multiple hats in a close-knit clinical environment. Our partner sites include Critical Access Hospitals (CAH), clinics, and long-term care facilities, where you'll deliver broad-scope, high-impact care to underserved communities across the state.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct patient care across a variety of departments (ED, Med-Surg, Swing Bed) as well as long-term care/skilled nursing units, as needed in a low-volume, high-acuity rural setting
• Adapt quickly to different facility workflows, EMR systems, and care teams across assignment sites
• Deliver safe, patient-centered care with a high degree of autonomy and clinical judgment
• Travel to per diem sites — as needed to cover short-term staffing gaps across the region
• Collaborate closely with small interdisciplinary teams, often functioning as a generalist across multiple specialties
• Maintain compliance with facility-specific policies, state licensure, and certification requirements
What We Offer
• Competitive weekly pay with tax-advantaged stipends for qualifying travelers
• Mileage reimbursement for travel
• Housing assistance and lodging provided for per diem shifts
• Dedicated recruiter support and 24/7 clinical assistance
• A close knit, personable team that is based in Montana, for Montana
• The chance to experience Montana's rural communities and stunning landscapes while building a versatile, in-demand skill set
Why Rural Montana?
Working in Critical Access Hospitals and long-term care facilities means broader scope of practice, closer patient relationships, and the opportunity to make a real difference in communities where healthcare access is limited. If you're an RN who wants autonomy, variety, and adventure — this is where you'll find it.
Qualifications
• Active, unencumbered RN license (Montana license or active Nurse Licensure Compact/eNLC license)
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent RN experience
• Critical Access Hospital experience strongly preferred; long-term care experience a plus
• BLS required; ACLS, PALS, TNCC, or NRP preferred depending on unit and required to pick up ER shifts
• Comfortable working in a generalist capacity typical of small/rural hospitals and long-term care settings
• Willingness and reliable transportation to travel to per diem sites within the region as assignments require
• Strong adaptability, independent judgment, and communication skills — you may be one of few RNs on shift
